Critical extension and its contributions to teacher training

This paper analyzes the potential contributions of critical extension to teacher education in History, mainly in relation to the shaping of knowledge and teaching practices, as well as to the reflection on them. To this end, first of all, the theoretical position on the teaching profession, knowledge construction and teaching practices are defined. Then, the contributions of the paradigm of critical extension in teacher training are pondered to end with an analysis of the beginnings of an extensionist experience in the Chair of History Didactics and Teaching Practice of the Faculty of Human Sciences of UNICEN.
