Art in a context of incarceration: Systematizing a university extension experience in the city of Ushuaia

The present article seeks to systematically analyze a University Extension Experience Project so called Art in a Context of Incarceration. The project was developed between April and September in 2022 at the Provincial Educational Center of Ushuaia Tierra del Fuego. In the first place, the framework in which the project originates is described as well as the confirmation of the working team, workshops, objectives and activities. Secondly, the Educational Center will be introduced as the space provided for the location of this extension experience, but also as part of an educational project with an important background in the province. Finally, there will be considerations on general perspectives from where the workshops were designed, plus the attendants enhancing points of views which take into account the meanings imprinted and built on the university extension. Methodologically, semi-structured interviews were used with key figures form the area, teachers and students at the Educational Center as well as participant observation during the different organized workshops. The systematization of this experience looks forward to generating knowledge applicable to future extension projects highlighting the importance of building learning through life experiences.
