This article brings the advances of a university extension project, which addresses the direction of Public Policy on Food and Nutrition Security for the Municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes, in the northern region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The effort is aimed at understanding the role of public actors and civil society in implementing a public policy of a transversal nature, in an scenario of tackling the lack of institutional dialogues.
